Amani National Congress Party has fired back over the recent statement from the retired Chief Justice Dr. Willy Mutunga that Deputy President William Ruto will defeat former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in 2022 as fresh details emerge.
According to CJ Mutunga, he has been quoted in the Standard alleging that going by the current statistics the 2022 presidential race will be a two-horse race adding that as for now the Deputy President is bound to beat Raila Odinga in a hotly contested race.
"I have done my investigation people are getting to accept that it will be a race between William Ruto and Raila Odinga. As of now, William Ruto will beat Raila,” is the conclusion of former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga has said.
After Willy Mutunga's statements, the Amani National Congress Party through their Secretary-General Simon Gikuru has fired back informing the former Chief Justice that he should keep off the National Politics and enjoy his huge retirement benefits, terming his political analysis as bogus.
"If you are a former Chief Justice, why don't you sit at home and enjoy the huge retirement perks? Former CJ Mutunga would never have made it in politics because you can see his analysis of politics," Simon Gikuru (SG, ANC) has said in an interview with TV47.
