UDA Gubernatorial Candidate for Isiolo Steps Down

In a joyful posture inside Isiolo's town hall, Doyo praised Tene and his deputy for the good gift.

"Today, gubernatorial candidate Hussein Tene Dabaso and his running partner Mugabe resigned in my favor in a historic occasion in Isiolo." I am humbled by their generous gesture, "Doyo said.

It's a setback for DP Ruto in the coming weeks as Raila Odinga, Azimio La Umoja's standard-bearer, toured the region.

According to a recent TIFA survey, the UDA was the most popular party in Isiolo County with 32%, followed by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), led by Raila Odinga with 27%.

President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party finished in third with 22%, followed by George Wajackoyah's Roots Party with 1%.

Abdi Guyo, head of the Nairobi County Majority Assembly and former director of the Halakhe Waqo Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, is one among the contenders for the highest-stakes race (ODM).

Others include PNU's Kenneth Turibo Maore and the Safina party's Kimaita Machuguma.

Doyo was chosen as the first governor of Isiolo in 2013 by the United Republican Party-URP, Ruto's Jubilee wing.

He was defeated in 2017 by Dr. Mohamed Kuti of the Development and Reform Party, and he was unable to defend his position. Kuti withdrew from the race due to health concerns.
