Yesterday, the head of civil service retired from this powerful post and handed over the mantle to Felix Koskei.
The President hailed mr Kinyua for ensuring that there was a smooth transition from Uhuru Kenyatta. He congratulated him for his diligent service to the government.
"I want to congratulate Joseph, he has worked with me to make sure that Kenya gives an example of what a transition looks like," President Dr. Ruto said.
Joseph Kinyua has served the government for forty-two years since he joined the government of the late former president Daniel Moi in 1980.
The soft-spoken Joseph Kinyua rose to become the most trusted person by former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to those who worked close to him, Kinyua was a selfless man who at times came to the office as early as 4:00 in the morning. He was punctual and always up to the task.
More details reveal that he was a very honest man such that every weekend he could not use government vehicles but his vehicles.
