McDonald Mariga says he will not be intimidated by people he says are out to discourage his Kibera parliamentary aspirations.
This is after he was attacked by goons who allegedly broke his arm. He alleged was sent by his competitors.
In a video circulating online, Mariga is heard saying;
“You see they have broken my hand but they will not intimidate me,”
The former footballer is contesting on a United Democratic Alliance(UDA) party ticket and is expected to face off ODM Mwalimu Orero and the incumbent Imran Okoth.
“We’ve been doing peaceful campaigns here, but there are some politicians who are sending young people to injure me,” he told.
He went ahead and stated that he had recorded a statement with the police to assure that those responsible are charged.
“If they think they will intimidate me by beating me and my supporters, they are wrong. We will campaign even harder and have set our eyes on the prize.”
“This is not the Kibra we want.” he concluded.
