The tribulations of the governor of Meru, Kawira Mwangaza, are far from over, after the County Assembly approved a notice of motion of impeachment tabled on Tuesday, 22nd November 2022.
Abogeta West MCA Dennis Kiogora tabled the impeachment motion against Governor Mwangaza on grounds of violation of Public Finance Management Act, misconduct on the nomination of CECs among other things.
Governor Mwangaza has responded to the impeachment motion tabled against her at the Meru County Assembly.
She has termed the impeachment motion as an opportunity to expose the 'truth' which she says cannot remain hidden forever.
However, she has reiterated that she will continue serving the people of Meru County, and won't be swayed to stop working and vowed to expose the truth when time comes.
"Bado sisi tunachapa kazi...Mawakili watapambana na mawakili wengine. Lakini ninajua jambo moja, ukweli haufichiki. You cannot hide the truth, lazima ukweli utajulikana. And this is the tight time na ninataka kusema asante kwa Mungu maana siku inafika na tutaanika oeupe," Governor Mwangaza said.
