Kenneth Lusaka is a man that needs no introduction. He is the second speaker of the Kenyan Senate and the former Governor of Bungoma County who served from March 2013 to August 2017. However, he was unable to retain his seat under a Jubilee ticket after he was floored by Wycliffe Wafula Wangamati who vied on a Ford Kenya ticket.
Profile Summary.
Lusaka was born on 18 September 1963 in Bungoma County. He attended Kamukuywa Primary School and later joined Kibabii High School in Bungoma for his 'O' Levels. He later enrolled for his 'A' levels in Friends School Kamusinga and Chesamisi High School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and History from the University of Nairobi. Later he flew to the Netherlands in pursuit of a Master of Arts Degree in Public Policy and Administration from the International Institute of Social Studies(ISS). During his time at ISS, he was appointed as the President of Scholars.[Photo courtesy]
Family Life.
He is a family man who is happily married to Dr Margaret Makelo. The couple is blessed with three kids but only Winnie Lusaka is known to the public.
Dr Makelo is a Senior Research Officer at Kenya Agricultural Research Institute(KARI).
