“Let us Forgive One Another” Kinoti Says as He Resigns

DCI Boss George Kinoti has asked for forgiveness as he quits to welcome Masaa as the new boss. Though his reasons for resignation are not clear, Kinoti seems to have resigned out of respect to help the new administration set up its agenda. While talking to his colleagues during a farewell ceremony, Kinoti asked his colleagues to ensure that they embrace forgiveness. He told them that he has already forgiven those who wronged him and he would want those that he wronged to forgive him.

During the campaigns, President Ruto attacked Kinoti claiming that the war on corruption was attacking those in Ruto’s camp. The exchange between Ruto and his team might have created bad blood between the two leaders and this might have been the reason for his early retirement.

According to a report in the Standard newspaper, Kinoti asked those who are still in service to ensure that they serve Kenyans diligently and remain united. During the one-hour talk, Kinoti who had no written speech revealed that unity and forgiveness was going to be healthy for those remaining behind. Dr Hamisi Masaa is expected to take over from Kinoti as the DCI boss.
