The former president Uhuru Kenyatta's first ever foreign affairs cabinet secretary during his first term in office has reportedly acquired a prestigious worldwide job, according to a statement released today by a global organization.
Ms. Amina Mohamed has been selected to lead the group's observer team to the Dominican Republic, where elections are set to take place in a few days, according to a statement from the Commonwealth.
The commonwealth added that Amina, who only recently left office last month after handing over to Ababu Namwamba, will lead a team of five accomplished individuals to the mission. One of those she will mentor is Liberata Mulamula, a former Tanzanian minister of foreign affairs.
'Under the chairmanship of Amina Mohammed, I firmly believe that the observer group will provide an informed, thorough, and impartial assessment of the electoral process,' said Patricia Scotland, secretary general of the Commonwealth.
Amina is expected to depart on Wednesday and arrive in the Dominican Republic (30th November 2022). Throughout the exercise, they are required to travel the entire country while maintaining their objectivity.
