Newly-sworn Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula has been forced to eat a humble pie after admitting that he is no an equal to his boss, Governor Fernandes Barasa.

While speaking at Bukhungu stadium shortly after they were sworn-in, Savula insisted that he is the Kakamega Deputy Governor. The statement is a sudden u-turn to his earlier statement that he is a Co-Governor.

In a statement that had elicited mixed reactions, the former Lugari MP indicated that he will be an equal of the ODM Governor, Fernandes Barasa once they form Government.

According to the former journalist, they will share the county government positions equally, something which he says will place him on the same level with Barasa. As such, they will be Co-Governors.

But during one of his biggest days as a politician, Savula made a hasty retreat even as insisted that he will be Barasa's junior in the running of Kakamega County Government.

Governor Barasa is a member of ODM while Savula is a member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP-K ).
