Nairobi, Kenya | THE INDEPENDENT | Kenya's Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has collected, tabulated, and verified all of the votes from the nation's 291 constituencies, and is set to make the official presidential results public by noon today.

The IEBC will now beat Tuesday's statutory deadline to publish the results of the country's 2022 Presidential election because 241 of 291 seats have already been announced.

With 6,081,048 votes, William Ruto of the UDA is still in the lead, having taken it early yesterday. His margin is 51.12%. Raila Odinga, the candidate for Azimo La Umoja, is in second place with 5,734,314 votes and is at 48.20%.

In Kenya's seventh general election since the country's multiparty system was established in 1991, voters lined up to choose the nation's fifth president as well as senators, county governors, and members of the National Assembly.

Kenyans chose 16,105 candidates out of the total 1,879 elective positions up for election.
