The Star Newspaper reported that the aspiring candidate for governor Kericho had stopped the race and is now joining Dr. Mutai by the United Democratic Alliance Party as his counterpart.
This means that engineer Fred Kirui is now a member of the United Democratic Alliance Party and will now be Dr. Mutai's running mate under the U.DA. ticket in the primaries and general elections in August 2022.
"In a report a signed statement, the 2 said that they will run as a team in Thursday U.D.A. Party primaries", Thestar news paper reported.
This now makes Charles Keter's ambitions difficult as the next governor after the 2 signed a cooperation agreement in the preceding August elections.
They will now compete in the August competition with Deputy Governor Lily Ngok, Professor James Sang, Independent Candidate Engineer Samuel Rotich and Engineer Elijah Maru.
