Kapenguria: IEBC Presiding Officer Arrested for Allegedly Attempting to Edit Form 34A

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission presiding officer arrested for allegedly trying to edit form 34A in Kapenguria.

Police said that they were acting on a tip-off from members of the public.

The latest development comes when Provisional results suggest a tight presidential race in Kenya between Deputy President William Ruto and Raila Odinga, the ODM Party leader.

With more than 90% of results posted from thousands of individual districts, local tallies of the raw data suggest little separates the pair.

The tallying of results from Kenya’s presidential and parliamentary elections is ongoing, a day after millions voted for a successor to incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kenyans waited anxiously on Wednesday for the results of the country's presidential election after a largely peaceful poll, with low turnout in some areas suggesting growing frustration with the political elite.

Deputy President William Ruto, 55, is squaring up against former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as the leading candidates in the race to replace Kenyatta, who is finishing up the second of two five-year terms.

Meanwhile, the suspect is currently being detained at the police station pending police investigations on the matter.
