William Ruto is sharpening his skills for the statehouse race in the coming months. Today he was in Migori county together with governor Okoth Obado. The two carried the day with their mouth watering promises to the locals. The deputy president's strategy is working in his favor so far. He has attracted many allies across the country more than other top leaders.
Most UDA party members have been linked with various scandals in the past. Migori county governor is battling a murder case in court currently. Before the charges he was a strong supporter of Raila Odinga. Soon after he was convicted rumours had it that he had links with William Ruto. Today it is known in that he is a staunch supporter of the second in command.
Rigathi Gachagua has a case to answer for claims of transacting more than 12 billion. He is the number one political strategist for Ruto in mount Kenya. Anne Waiguru is also on the verge of joining Ruto's party ahead of the general elections. This has raised concerns on what the chief 'hustler' offers to such kind of leaders.
These group of leaders will be key in 2022 general elections. They will be able to amass grassroot politics which will be his major strength.
