Former cabinet secretary for sports Rashid Echesa visited Matungu constituency just two fays after Musalia Mudavadi and Gideon Moi left.
He was in company of form senator of Kakamega county Bonny Khalwale. They both toured Koyonzo Village to drum up support for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate Alex Lanya.
Matungu constituency which is in Kakamega county has become a center if National politics after the death of Murunga the forms area Member of Parliament that occurred last year.
William Ruto is using UDA party to weigh on his strength in western Kenya where as Musalia Mudavadi is gauging his popularity using the Amani National Congress.
There is no poll that has been done so far to project the winner but analysis shows that Ruto's candidate might emerge the winner due to Khalwale and Echesa's influence in Kakamega county.
The governor of Kakamega Wycliffe Oparanya has not been seen in the campaigns in support of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party candidate David Were.
