The people of Bungoma County yesterday lined up to vote for the senator after the seat bacame vacant following the appointment of Moses Wetangula as the National Assembly Speaker.
In the Bungoma senate race was Mabonga who was on a UDA Ticket, Azimio La Umoja side with Wafula Wamunyunyi and Ford Kenya Party representative David Wakoli.
Provisional results updated by one of the local dailies has indicated that Azimio La Umoja side candidate Wafula Wamunyunyi who was vying under Democratic Action Party of Kenya is trailing.
Results indicate that Wafula Wakoli is leading with 64009 votes. Second is UDA Candidate Mabonga who has 45682 votes while Democratic Action Party of Kenya candidate Wafula Wamunyunyi comes in third with 22,296 votes in the election.
