The nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has finally broken silence after Dp Ruto publicly dished out sh 1M to s€x workers in Mtito Andei. The Deputy President left Kenyans talking after responding to their appeal to speed up the hustlers empowerment fund that would enable them switch careers.
Omanga has finally joined the contentious debate where Ruto's critics misinterpreted his generosity.
According to Omanga, the Deputy president's intention is to lift s€x workers from the bondage of the nature of their work so that they can start and run businesses that uplift their dignity and social wellbeing. "I'm delighted that his pronouncement in Kibwezi has ignited a national discourse," she has stated.
However, a section of Kenyans seems to differ with her statement. On the list was the Sonu East member of parliament Junet Mohamed who has further interrogated her explanation.
In his opinion, the s€x workers have clients too, and it feels sad they have been left out in the empowerment fund. "You lift s€x workers how about their clients? They have a group here," Mohamed has raised a concern.
Do you think the dp should equally consider the prostitutes' clients? Give us your feedback, we'll greatly appreciate your comment on this. Kindly go through the reactions raised by Netizens as captured by the screenshots below;
