A photo of former Kilifi gubernatorial candidate on a Jubilee ticket Gideon Mungaro and ODM leader Raila Odinga together in Mombasa has been shared widely with rumors that the vocal legislator could be on his way back to ODM party. This comes only a few hours after close to 5 sitting governors met up to discuss the way forward for the coastal region.

Gideon Mungaro ditched the party in the run up for 2017 elections vying for the Kilifi Gubernatorial seat but lost it to the current Governor Amerson Kingi who was elected on an ODM ticket.
It is believed that Mungaro is eyeing the seat which will be left vacant once the current Governors term comes to an end in 2022. This latest photo is a clear indication that political players are realigning themselves for 2022 which is only one year ahead.
The coastal region has been seen to be a hotbed with many politicians frequenting the area in recent days. The latest to have made a tour of the area was Deputy President William Ruto who was on a four days tour of the region.
