Plane Crash

The Daring Kenyan Minister Who Asked Kenyans to Eat Rats Before Being Involved in a Plane Crash

The food security saga in the country dates back in the previous governments and Kenyans have paid the price in different occasions. Kenyans for the longest time have experienced shortage of food in the country and this year is not different either. The then finance minister under the late President Mwai Kibaki Hon Robinson Njeru and the now Kenya-US ambassador Robinson Njeru raised questions after asking Kenyans to eat rats. Njeru argued that Kenyans were selective in terms of what to eat and the assumptions that some foods were not important than the others were dominant.

Njeru asked Kenyans to prefer other meals rather than the normal meals that Kenyans are known to eat. He compared Tanzania to Kenya where he claimed that unlike Kenyans, Tanzanians are not selective and hence are suffering. The minister would later survive a plane crash before being appointed a Kenyan ambassador yo the USA. Njeru's controversial statement seems to have been supported by the Peter Munya despite the two having different angles of arguments.
