Labour and employment court in Nakuru after a case was filed against nomination of 13 members to the CEC lists in Susan Kihika's government ordered a whole overhaul and a redo of the nominations. Nakuru governor has brushed off the orders and again forwarded the same names to the county Assembly.
All the names which were found in the previous list are still intact with each taking their previous dockets. The governor only changed the order of names of some and replaced one CEC for health. Samuel Mwaura had bagged the docket in her earlier list but the new list has Mongina Osoro.
Dr Benjamin Magare, a Nakuru-based doctor had said the list of members of the County Executive Committee (CECs) does not reflect the ethnic and cultural diversity of the county contrary to the County Government Act and the constitution of Kenya. He noted that one ethnic community had been given 7 dockets and the rest shared among other communities in the cosmopolitan county.
The doctors lawyers after the ruling hoped that the governor would give Nakuru a new list reflecting the diverse face of the county.
"We request the governor in her next appointment to get CECs who reflect the face of the entire county of Nakuru. She must give special bias to the Kikuyu, Kalenjins and all the other tribes in Nakuru."
