Eldoret based Human Rights activists Kimutai Kirui has revealed why Kalenjins support the deputy president William Ruto.

Speaking to the press Kurui said they are supporting him because of his competence and hardworking that Kalenjins are supporting him. 

"As Kalenjin community we are not supporting Ruto just because he is a Kalenjin but because he is hard working and competent leader who willing to help hustlers. Ruto did very well when he was Eldoret North MP which made him visible, reliable and dependable," said the Eldoret Human Rights Activist while speaking to the press.

Ruto who hails from Uasin Gishu County before vying for presidency come 2022 but his bid has been rubbished by the dynasties led by COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli and Jubilee party Vice chairman David Murathe who had termed him as corrupt and cannot be trusted with the country's leadership.

"In Ministry of Agriculture,he improved on what Kipruto Kirwa initiated.The ministry was the best ever, he was then transferred to the ministry of Higher Education where the ministry became vibrant and visible," Kirui added.

He said Ruto made timely reforms which included timely reforms, quality Education in middle colleges , funding and the 2 years time student took to join the University was done away with.

"We don't like Ruto as a tribesman,we like the performance.Even Raila don't hate Ruto,they fear his performance.This is why we are saying a big No to the Baringo senator Gideon Moi because he is unknown but only being the son of the second president of Kenya Daniel Arap Moi," he added.
