Auditor general of Kenya Nancy Gathungu today during statehouse meeting in presence of President William Ruto, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Speakers of both National Assembly and Senate, has advised President Ruto on how to counteract perennial wastage of resources.
Speaking on January 17, 2023, She stated the way Mr President can prevent issues of re-allocation, Mislocation and lack of effectiveness in the use of resources the Kenyans generate through revenue raising.
"The Pockets of wastage that we raise through the reports, there are issues that requires implementation your Excellency ...if we concentrated on the reports of the controller of budgets on how the budget is implemented, then down the river or down the road we will not have these headlines that indicates that this country is not developing." Nancy Gathungu stated.
Furthermore, she warned Ruto over pending bills by using Bottom Up Idea, which is silently sabotaging businesses by not paying for the supplies given by government or work given by government.
Again on the issue of accountability, She stated that every individuals President William Ruto has delegated duties to serve the citizens of Kenya must be held accountable for what they are given, in order for h8m to earn the trust of Kenyans who elected him.
