The deputy president of the Republic of Kenya Rigathi Gachagua has finally addressed the issue of mishandling the journalist in Muranga a few months ago. He was keen to note that security personnel assigned to his spouse must be protected at all times without fail from potential harm.
He was keen to note that the journalist who was mishandled normally comes to meetings drunk and security misunderstood him. He went ahead to note that this is unethical and should be avoided by media personnel as they carry out their activities.
He revealed that the matter was escalated to relevant authorities but the journalist was not reprimanded for his behaviour by the media council. He highlighted that drunkards should not be allowed to carry out official duties as they may spoil an event that took so long to organise.
