The Wiper Democratic Movement Party leaders have distanced themselves over Azimio leader Raila Odinga's move to hold a parallel Jamhuri Day celebrations. The Wiper chairman Ali Makwere has now condemned Raila's plans saying that the country has enjoyed peace transition and Raila Odinga should not be ready to cause chaos in the country. He alleged that Raila wants to take the country into those dark days and maybe he is planning to swear himself as the president again after what he did in the past.
Raila has been advised to play his oversight role as the opposition leader and allow the new regime to deliver services to Kenyans. Makwere asked Raila to shelve his plans and focus on 2027 if he ready wants to lead Kenyans. He also informed Raila that Wiper will not take part in his alleged plans. He shared his sentiments that organising parallel Jamhuri Day celebrations will only case political instability in the nation.
