Today CJ Martha Koome has asked the president to appoint the six rejected judges. The New CJ, who took over a few days ago, after the retirement of David Maraga, clarified to the public that appointing the six rejected judges is not a matter of discussion. She said that its constitution that the president must appoint all judges presented to him the Chief Justice.
Since the president omitted the six judges some few days ago, there has been a public outcry over the violation of the constitution by the president. All the blame has been directed to the new Chief Justice, as her silence over the first in command actions attracted public attention. Today, the new Chief justice has cleared the air, advising the president to do as per the constitution of Kenya.
Few people expected such remarks from Lady Martha Koome, as many have labeled her as a coward and the government's project. Do you think Martha Koome is on the right track? Is it adequate, or is the position too big for her? Could you share with us your comment?
