A portion of the attendees failed to show up for the conference that Uhuru was convening in Nairobi to discuss the ongoing fighting in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DCI) and, at the very least, develop long-lasting solutions to put an end to the fighting. The former president was enraged by some of the attendees' absences and threatened to inform their respective superiors of their whereabouts.

(The former President said, roughly translated, "Mimi nitwashitaki kwa wakubwa wao, labda wanafanya ivo kwa sababau wanaona mimi sio mkubwa, nitawashitaki kwa viongozi wao.")

(They may be avoiding the meeting because they do not view me as their boss, but I am going to report them to their leaders.) I am going to report them to their bosses.M23 and other armed groups have been spreading devastation in Eastern DRC, killing innocent people and forcing thousands of others to flee their homes.
