Kakamega Governor and the former council of governors intends to vie for president in an ODM ticket but still supports building bridges initiative bill. The worry is that can ODM propel someone to the top seat? In Kenya recently aspirants emerge victorious from a coalition but not a single Political Party.
New details have emerged that Wycliffe oparanya eyes the butere member of parliament seat which he served before becoming kakamega governor. This is after BBI goes through which is at limbo. Oparanya served as the mp for betere constituency from 2002 to 2013.
Oparanya is Raila's right hand man and may not want to go in a contest with him for a ticket. If BBI does not pass then he will seek other responsibilities.
Oparanya says he cannot go for a referendum merely 12 months to the general elections. Again he adds that there are no funds to run a referendum given the hardships brought by Corona pandemic.
