Raila Odinga's motorcade came face to face with women, youth, and women groups in Machakos Town after being hosted by Mutua in his governor's office. A large throng greeted the former prime minister's motorcade, demanding that Mr Odinga ensure that Kalonzo Musyoka joins his campaign ahead of the August general election.
Residents screamed Mr Odinga's name when he arrived in Masaku, Machakos County. Raila was accompanied by other Ukambani governors, who are currently sending shivers down the spine of Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
While yelling and singing Azimio La Umoja chants, the throng obstructs the convoy. Raila's convoy was unable to proceed due to the densely crowded road.
While addressing Machakos people, Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho launched shots at Deputy President Dr William Ruto, accusing him of not having any development record that benefited the people of Machakos during his ten years as deputy president.
"William Ruto Amekuwa naibu Rais kwa miaka kumi na hakuna kitu amewafanyia nyinyi watu wa Machakos, wheelbarrow ni kitu ya kuwaletea nyinyi kweli? Apotelee huko" He asked the horde to condemn the chief hustler in unison.
They all said, "akwendee huko."
The wiper leader Kalonzo has to be swayed by the wish of Machakos residents to join Azimio camp.
