The August 9 general election has been a major topic across all media houses pushing them to conduct polls across the country on various political posts ahead of August 9 general election to determine the possible winners in the presidential, gubernatorial, senatorial, women representative races and other posts.
Mizani Africa limited conducted a poll survey on the 17th to 20th of June in the county of Vihiga to determine the popularity ranking of various aspirants ahead of the decision making day.
According to the poll results Wilber Ottichillo of the ODM Party would have retained his seat as governor for Vihiga leading at 42.9% ahead of Kijana Alfred Agoi at 24.8%. At third place is former governor Rev. Moses Akaranga at 13.0%.
The senatorial race may see a tough competition between ODM Candidate, nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi and ANC Party Candidate Kedogo Jackson. Osotsi takes an early lead at 42.1% ahead of Jackson who comes second at 25.3%. At third place is Babira James who managed 8.5%.
The women representative race is also a rough one as prolific women battle it out on each other. The outstanding one Violet Bagada leads at 38.4% followed by at Beatrice Adagala at 36.8%
