Since taking office, President William Ruto has had his first round table interview with the press. The President of Kenya responded to concerns voiced by Kenyans about the country's economy and his plans for the future.
President Ruto took a jab at the previous administration led by Uhuru, saying that most policies made led the country to an economic halt, in addition to criticizing the economy.
Further, Ruto criticized George Kinoti, the previous head of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, for his role in extrajudicial murders.
Kinoti was named by name by Ruto as one of the officers who oversaw murders while on duty.
How did we go to the police station where people were being slaughtered in a container in Nairobi? When asked about the rumors that Kinoti had resigned, Ruto said this was the main reason he had him fired.
According to the president, additional IPOA investigations are currently underway, and the perpetrators of these crimes will soon be held accountable.
