Mt Kenya residents are not begging for peace from Ruto or anybody in Rift Valley region. We cannot back you so that we can have peace. This are the words of CS, Peter Munya today to the deputy president William Ruto and his team ahead of the 2022 general election.

Munya made it clear that he was aware several Mt Kenya residents live in Rift Valley but cautioned against using their peace to force Mt Kenya region into backing Ruto. He remained clear he will lead people in their numbers to support Raila without fear of clashes in Rift Valley as happened previously.
Munya has remained clear Mt Kenya region will not be forced to support Ruto for the people of Central in Rift Valley to enjoy peace. He remained clear there will be no clashes whatsoever even if Mt Kenya refused to back Ruto as the government is clear on peace to everybody.
The Cabinet Secretary has remained clear Rift Valley region must remain peaceful for its not proper for people in Rift Valley to threaten non residents. He is clear if anything happened to people in Rift Valley Ruto will be squarely answerable.
