Kalonzo Musyoka expressed his desire to vie for the presidential bid in August as an independent after being refused the position of the running mate in the Azimio la Umoja party which was given to Martha Karua.
However, Kalonzo is now among the candidates who have been omitted by the IEBC, this was evidenced when the commission announced the sixteen candidates who have been cleared to run.
Raila Odinga; The Azimio la Umoja party leader, George Wajackoyah of the roots party, and the United Democratic Alliance Party Leader William Ruto have been cleared. This happened a few days after Kalonzo's running mate Sankuli announced that they will go to whatever length to complete the marathon.
"We had an intention of staying in Azimio la Umoja party, but we are negotiating our arrangements which are almost completed owing to the work of the three. They will be able to discover a way round in no time."The former Deputy Speaker of the National assembly remarked.
