In a report via the Standard, it has been established that leaders from Mt Kenya region and who belong to the Tangatanga camp a group of leaders supporting Deputy President William Ruto has kicked off negotiation plans with the DP to know the position the region will hold in his administration and how the region will benefit economically in exchange of their support.
It has been affirmed that some of the Mt Kenya leaders in Masai Mara include Kandara Member of Parliament Hon Alice Wahome, Mathira Member of Parliament Hon Rigathi Gachagua, Faith Gitau, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ngunjiri, Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura, and James Gakuya.
Muranga Senator Irungu Kangata has disclosed that he is not part of the meeting informing that since they cannot all converge, they agreed as the Muranga leaders to choose Alice Wahome to be their representative considering the gender parity.
Senator Irungu Kang'ata has said that the team will handle the negotiation adding that the only county not yet decided on who to represent the people is Kirinyaga County with Women Representative Wangui Ngirichi and Ndia Member of Parliament George Macharia willing to attend the retreat.
“We had a meeting and we elected one person per county to handle the negotiations. We are too many to be involved given that we are 142 leaders. I proposed Wahome for gender purposes and she will be representing Murang'a."
In the Meeting the leaders will come out with answers from the Deputy President on what offer he has for Mt Kenya for backing his presidential bid.
