Raila's claims that the Executive has gone to bed with the Judiciary, a move that, according to him, will compromise the Judicial and Justice systems in Kenya, have been ignored by President William Ruto. Raila's claims are as follows: This comes after it was reported that the president of state had selected 20 new high court judges, who are scheduled to be sworn in the following day by the chief justice.
However, Deputy President Ruto's appointment of judges comes only a few hours after he made a promise to bolster the Judiciary by cooperating with the Chief Justice to ensure that Kenyans are provided with justice. This, Ruto said even as he revealed that it makes no sense for someone to train as a judge or magistrate then if he or she can't be allowed to exercise their mandate. Ruto said this even though he was revealing the fact that it makes no sense for someone to train as a judge or magistrate.
To continue with politics, on Monday, December 5, the governor of Kakamega, Fernandes Barasa, revealed that several governors from Azimio La Umoja had reached a consensus regarding the most effective way to collaborate with the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Although they are members of the opposition, Western Kenya's governors have come to the conclusion that it is in everyone's best interest to cooperate closely with the incoming administration, as was pointed out by Barasa, who served as the meeting's chairperson.
