Year's after Miguna Miguna was exiled by the Kenyan Government to Canada, Miguna has today 20th October, 2021 got a reprove from the Former Kenyan Chief Justice Dr. Willy Mutunga after promising to ensure that he gets back to his country, Kenya.
According to Dr. Mutunga, the move for to return to his motherland was arrived after he made broad consultations with various stakeholders who will make the journey successful i.e. lawyer's
"After careful reflection and following broad consultations with lawyers, human rights and justice defender's, progressive politicians, and Mr. Miguna himself, I have decided to travel to Toronto, Canada, to accompany Mr. Miguna on his flight back to his motherland on 16 November, 2021. I am also seeking out Kenyan journalists who will accompany me on this historic journey," Dr. Mutunga's statement read.
According to a statement that Miguna has shared on Twitter, he has welcomed the former CJ's decision to back him as he returns back to Kenya on 16th November, 2021.
"Former CJ @WMutunga: Thank you for the DECISION to travel to Canada and accompany me HOME on November 16. It's 1,357 days (3 year's, 8 months and 18 days) since I was forcefully exiled. We need GENUINE FREEDOM. Let them remove RED ALLERTS! I'm ready!" Miguna wrote.
After Miguna was exiled to Canada, all countries were given red alerts that barred him from traveling to Kenya something that forced him to continue residing in Canada as he continues to seek justice.
