Mombasa politics are gaining momentum.Different political factions are rooting for their sides to win.The biggest rivalry that has been brewing over time is that between Nyali MP Mohammed Ali and outgoing Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho. The political feuds between the two is despite that Joho is no longer vying for any political post while Mohammed Ali is vying to retain his Nyali MP seat.Mohammed Ali has also made allegations about the Mombasa port that he alleges Joho and his compatriots are engaged in at the expense of the common Mombasa people.
On Monday 4th July, the MP has made fresh allegations against Joho.He has also ropped in Joho's brother Abhu Joho saying that they met and made plans to frustrate all UDA and Kenya Kwanza rallies in the county.Mohammed Ali mentioned names of various men who he alleges that they have been recruited to foil any political campaign meetings. He also said that four of them have illegal guns in their possesion.
"Nataka kumwambia Abhu Joho ya kwamba damu ikimwagika Mombasa, mlango wa kwanza utakaobishwa ni wako.Hamuwezi kaa chini mtumie vijana wa watu vibaya na kuwapatia majukumu ya kuzuia wavurugu katika maeneo bunge sita na katika county nzima na kuhakikisha siasa za Kenya Kwanza hazifui dafu," the Nyali MP revealed in Swahili.
The swahili words in English would loosely translate to, 'i want to inform Abhu Joho that incase of any form of disruption that will be witnessed in Mombasa, you shall be the first one to be held accountable. You can not form a meeting and tell the youth to engage in violence aimed at disrupting Kenya Kwanza leaders meetings.
