A Tweet message shared on Twitter by Deputy president Doctor William Ruto has sparked mixed responses from a section of Kenyans who moved in to give their responses. His statement was based on better living standards and economic empowerment for all Kenyans.
On Friday, February 5, the deputy president visited Kilifi County where he was involved in several activities which focused mainly on economic empowerment for the Kilifi citizens. He conducted a consultative meeting with the leadership of the area. He led multiple women and youth empowerment programs in the region. Why do you think William Ruto is so concerned about youth empowerment and economic development matters throughout the country? Many Kenyans believe it is a political strategy of carrying out political campaigns in preparations for the 2022 presidential contest.
Deputy president’s tweet read, and I quote: “We are determined to change our economic approach from the top-bottom to bottom-up so that we can improve the standards of living of the millions of the ordinary people at the base of wealth pyramid, making Kenya a more equal and prosperous country.” His message read.
The message elicited mixed reactions from members of the social community who have given their views and reservations about his tweet message. Look at the caption here below to see some of Kenyans' responses.
