One of the officials in Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga’s campaign team alleged why some of the women who were in Raila’s meeting were wearing masks.
The official identified as Ann while speaking about Raila’s economic empowerment plan claimed that some of the women from Ruiru, Kiambu county were wearing masks because they might have been punched.
Ann who said some of the women were wearing masks pretending it was because of Covid claimed domestic violence is on the rise because people do not have money.
But with Raila’s economic empowerment plan, Ann said if Raila wins the presidential election, he will improve the economy to make sure people have money in their pockets claiming it will reduce domestic violence.
Kiambu Governor James Nyoro had revealed that Ann is a lawyer and she is an organizer in Raila’s team.
“Where are the women? Najua wamama wengine mumevaa mask labda mulipigwa ngumi alafu munasema ni Covid. (I know some of the women are wearing masks maybe because you were punched and then you say it’s because of Covid),” said Ann.
“A lot of domestic violence is because of lack of money. But if you have money domestic violence will go down. There will be no wearing of masks pretending its Covid,” added Ann.
