Babu Owino Picks Issue With Presidents Congratulating Ruto, Tells Them to Keep Off Kenyan Affairs

As William Ruto's declaration as president-elect by IEBC continues to attract international reactions from heads of state and government within the East African region and beyond, the ongoing acknowledgements by the international community have not sat well with key figures in the Azimio la Umoja coalition which has since lost the election.

According to Embakasi East legislator Babu Owino, African leaders are allegedly meddling in Kenya's internal affairs by claiming that the polls were free and fair yet the Azimio coalition has promised to challenge the same at the Supreme Court of Kenya.

In a short warning to a video snippet, Babu has generally cautioned president's from other countries against commenting on Kenyan issues, saying that Kenya is a sovereign with its on structures of governance which must be respected.

"Some Presidents in Africa must keep off the affairs of Kenyans since kenya is a sovereign state." Babu said.

According to the disgruntled MP, Ruto's 'questionable' win will be subjected to all kinds of scrutiny and hopefully be overturned by the supreme court of Kenya.

Meanwhile dozens of congratulations messages continue streaming in from across board.

Among those who have tendered their well wishes include Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa who took to Twitter on Monday, and expressed confidence that Ruto will be a reputable leader.

"Congratulations to William Ruto on his election as the next President of Kenya," he said in a tweet.

"I have no doubt he will serve his country, his people and our continent with distinction," Mnangagwa added.

Others include new Somalia President Hassan Mohamud, former Somalia President Mohammed Farmaajo, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed among others.
