Governor Rasanga said the county had unfortunately recorded cases of Covid-19 but the trend could be checked if people were more vigilant in monitoring traveling in and out of the county.

The Governor said that although they had not achieved the Health Ministry recommend 300 beds, 66 were now operational with an additional 65 being 30% complete.
The distribution of beds is as follows: In Bondo sub-county hospital there are 16 beds, 5 in Siaya County Referral Hospital, and 45 in Ambira sub-county hospital.

Governor Rasanga issued a stern warning that almost all the cases of infection tested positive in the county were from persons who had traveled from outside the county.
