This follows after the popular Chamgei FM radio caller Wesley Lang'at, who hails from Silibwet Ward in Bomet Central constituency averred that deputy president Dr William Ruto would be the Kenya's president in 2022 when the incumbent Uhuru Kenyatta retires.
The man, also identified by his fans as Kocha Silibwet noted that Dr Ruto would not succeed in his quest to take after his boss because he had openly shown disloyalty to him (Uhuru Kenyatta) and the state.
"Deputy president Dr William Ruto will never be president, take it to the bank," said Lang'at.
Lang'at was speaking after the ruling party Jubilee axed Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany from being the outfit's Secretary General and appointed Cherangany lawmaker Joshua Kutuny to replace him. Also, he was reacting to Kutuny's assertions that Dr Ruto could also be sacked from the party's deputy leadership position.
According to the Bomet resident, the move by the ruling party to oust Kositany was in the right direction because the embattled Soy MP had shown disloyalty within the party by campaigning for Dr Ruto's 2022 presidential bid prematurely.
Further, Lang'at claimed that he supported Kutuny's assertions which suggested that individuals within the party who would not respect the party leader president Uhuru Kenyatta should be expelled including Dr Ruto.
He opined that Kenya African National Union (KANU) chairman Gideon Moi be given a chance to succeed Uhuru because he was a man with a clean record, untainted with corruption, unlike the DP.
This is a big blow to deputy president Dr William Ruto because Bomet County is one of his strongholds where he enjoys almost an absolute support.
