According to Ogola who is an academic strategist, a kingpin in politics has also its challenges. Ogola says when anything wrong was linked to Hon. Raila, it was being associated with all Luos.
"Luo Nyanza people, my request is let us not be in a hurry to have a kingpin. A kingpin in politics has put us into so much trouble. When Raila was the kingpin, whenever their is anything wrong with Raila it was all Luo," Ogolla said.
Speaking on Tuesday, October 4, at K24 TV, Ogola urged Luo to take a break on choosing a kingpin. He says any leader from the region who want to be selected to take over Raila has to come up with new leadership style.
"I will urged Luo, let's have a break. Let the person who comes with new leadership style that will be more of making Luo more acceptable and unite on something like development, economy, rather than tribal issues," Fred Ogola added.
"Let us ignore discussion on who will inherit Baba because we have Luo leaders. Let them come and say what they stand for, what they are willing to do for Kenya but not actually Luos," he said.
Further, Fred Ogola said Babu Owino has a capacity to emerge as a Kingpin of Luo Nyanza after Hon. Raila Odinga. This will happen only if Embakasi East MP will build on his credibility.
"We want leadership based on merits. We don't want to hear people coming out of popularity. Babu Owino need to build his own credibility and therefore he can emerge, leadership emerges," Ogola Concluded.
