Deputy President William Ruto is confident of becoming the country's next President after Uhuru Kenyatta who will be retiring come 2022.
Various candidates have lined up for the top seat including Deputy President William Ruto, Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi among others.
Leading the race to suceed President Uhuru is DP Ruto and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga.
The two have been keen on campaigns to see their election to the Presidency and have been visiting various parts of the country to mobilize support for their agenda.
DP Ruto and his Hustler Nation brigade have this morning brought Mutituni, Machakos Town Constituency, in Machakos County to a standstill after storming the area to take his bottom-up campaigns to Ukambani region.
Residents turned up in large numbers to receive DP Ruto during his visit and chants of Pro-DP Ruto slogans filled the air to welcome the 2022 presidential hopeful. "Ruto, Ruto,Ruto! UDA, UDA,UDA!" the crowds chanted to welcome the DP.
DP Ruto has taken his campaigns to Ukambani region which is considered Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka's turf, as he intends to woo residents to back his bid for the presidency.
