A former Kenyan army officer has denounced the dismissal of former DCI George Kinoti from the army. The former KDF reports that he was detained at DCI headquarters for a year without trial during George Kinoti's brutal rule, and the issue haunts him to this day.
Franklin Opiyo wants the government to compensate for the loss of his sanity and dignity in society, and he finds his attempts to reach out to his army futile claiming that he did not commit a crime.
Franklin recounts being threatened by his dismantled SSU unit and urged to report to DCI HQ and be shot. George Kinoti has been accused of abusing many Kenyans during his tenure as DCI.
The former KDF officer wants President William Ruto back in office because he is not a criminal. He believes he hopes to return to duty in the future, including traveling to Somalia to confront militants.
