The Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has broken his silence on the suspension of four commissioners of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) by President William Ruto.
Ruto suspended the IEBC vice chair Juliana Cherera, Justus Nyang'aya, Irene Masit and Francis Wanderi following recommendations by the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC).
The commissioners failed to turn up to respond to 4 petitions before JLAC and which sought their ouster.
Speaking in Kajiado County on Saturday, Kalonzo urged Ruto to reason with those in Azimio over the reconstituting of IEBC since three commissioners will be exiting from January, and the 4 might be removed eventually.
The Ukambani kingpin further told Ruto that the Wiper Party was ready to work with the Kenya Kwanza government in uniting the people, adding that they will support Ruto where necessary, and will also speak on his ills saying that they will not allow any dictatorial tendencies.
"My brother Ruto should not be planning to rig the 2027 elections when we are in 2022. The issue about the IEBC commissioners might result to some issues. To push this country forward we need to work together and as Wiper, we are ready to unite the country, but we will not keep quite when someone starts acts of a dictator."
