The former Governor of Nairobi County, honorable Mike Sonko filed an application at the High Court and claimed that he is broke and he is currently unable to cater for basic needs. He wrote that he can no longer pay school fees for his children because his Bank accounts were frozen and there is no way that he can withdraw the cash and use it.
The Standard Digital reported that the former Governor also want the court to allow him to surrender some things as security so that he can get the money. He also said that he has three vehicles which can amount to 30.4 million shillings and he is willing to surrender them to the court.
His lawyer also said that the law allows an accused person to present other things as security and be given the money. According to him, the vocal politician can no longer take good care of his family and he can no longer afford proper medical health care.
It is still not very clear whether the court will grant him his wish. The court should however hear his plea and help him with the money so that he can take care of his bills and his family.
