Mount Kenya politics have been the major battleground for the two major horses in the presidential race, William Ruto and Raila Odinga the former prime minister. Earlier on, statistics showed that the deputy president William Ruto had the majority of votes from the region which was a clear margin. When the former prime minister started his campaigns in the region, he has since gained support. According to the emerging reports, Mount Kenya has now decided that they will vote for deputy president William Ruto ahead of the August general elections.
Emerging reports from Gachagua to the residents of Nakuru was clear in pointing out that the deputy president had all the votes from the Mount Kenya region. He told the residents that the region had already decided to rally behind the deputy president William Ruto ahead of anticipated 2022 general elections which Kenyans are all anticipating anxiously. Uhuru Kenyatta's term is expected to come to an end.
