Yesterday night, Kenyans were treated to a shocking piece of news after it emerged that a well-known city tycoon was no more.
Taking to the social media, Esther could not hide her emotions as she showered her dad with praise for his lifetime achievements.
"A part of me has died today. The heavens opened and ended my father's suffering."
A naval architect by profession, my dad achieved a lot in his 79 years. From building the first ship in Kenya - the 'MV Mwewe' that sailed across the East African coast - to coaching and mentoring the young men of Ngome Football Club in Mombasa.
Dad worked for Southern Engineering Company Limited, COMARCO, before incorporating HELMACO, which he led until retirement
Looking back, none of his achievements compare to the family man that he was; a loving husband to my mother, an incredible dad to his five children and a doting Papou (grandfather) to his 9 grand children.
God was his anchor; gratitude his motto, protection over his family and country his prayer.
Though heartbroken, it is well with my soul.
A huge number of kenyans also expressed their deepest condolences to her family after the huge loss.
Thuku... Pole Sana kwako Mheshimiwa na Kwa familia yenu...
May his soul rest in eternal peace
