Delocalization: Oparanya Unveils Multi-million Governor's Annex Office Kilometres Away From Town

Despite curtains falling on Oparanya's 10 year tenure at the helm of Kakamega county government, the arguably outstanding administrator according to local standards has expeditiously launched a fully developed architectural masterpiece in the county's northern frontier that will host and discharge a section of devolved services.

According to the outgoing governor, the building dubbed Governor's Office will offer lasting relief to Likuyani and Lugari constituency residents bordering Uasin Gishu County who have been traveling for long distances to access key administrative services in Kakamega town.

With his term coming to an end, Oparanya said that his successor will deploy county staff to serve from the new base.

To properly cement his legacy, Oparanya also commissioned the Lumakanda-Mwamba road that was upgraded to bitumen standards by his administration. The 10 km road joins the Lumakanda Eldoret-Webuye road.

During the ceremony Oparanya boasted of his stellar performance at the county since 2013 saying that not even one scandal has been implicated to his administration.

"You have never heard of any scandal in the county because I have been strict on management of public resources," Oparanya reiterated.

The governor also expressed his satisfaction with the development record he has posted arguing that it has set precedence and pace for the incoming leaders.

"I am proud that as I leave office have transformed Kakamega county and left solid and functional structures that my successor will bank on as he serves wananchi." He said.
