Eliud Owalo, the ICT Cabinet Secretary, has faced criticism from online users for building billboards wishing President William Ruto a safe trip to Siaya County.
On January 11, the ICT CS posted images of the welcome billboards for the Head of State before his Nyanza visit, which begins on Friday, through Twitter.
One of the billboards spotted by Nairobileo.co.ke partially stated, "Welcome President."
Kenyans, however, instantly questioned whether taxpayer funds were used to pay for the billboards.

Another group of Kenyans criticized Mr. Owalo, calling it a waste of money and resources.

On Friday, January 13, President Ruto is anticipated to begin a lengthy tour to the Nyanza area.
The Affordable Housing Program's groundbreaking ceremony in Homa Bay County will be presided over by Ruto.
On January 14, the Head of State will attend the Owalo homecoming celebration.
