The choice of a running mate has been an uphill task for almost all presidential candidates who have declared they will be on the ballot in August. Top candidates including Raila Odinga of ODM and William Ruto of UDA have found themselves in a fix to land on one person whom they will run with for the highly competitive poll.
With the political parties amendment bill of 2021 however on their neck, the rush of narrowing down on potential running mates is unavoidable in both camps.
Deputy president William Ruto has finally hinted on two people who will be his possible running mates, and it is neither Musalia Mudavadi of ANC nor Moses Wetangula of Ford Kenya. According to a report by the Star Kenya, Ruto has narrowed on Rigathi Gachagua, Mp for Mathira constituency and Alice Wahome.

The two are both from mt Kenya region which is the biggest target for both Ruto and Raila Odinga camps. However, the entry of Mudavadi into the matrix will seemingly disrupt the equation and balance in UDA and the position of running mate.
